Kondratyuk about third place in the short program at the Grand Prix stage: “A stupid mistake with the rotation, but nothing serious happened”

Figure skater Mark Kondratyuk said he did not consider his mistake in the rotation element in the short program during the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix to be critical.

The first stage of the Russian Grand Prix began on Saturday in Magnitogorsk. Kondratyuk scored 90.30 points for the short program and took third place. The first is Roman Savosin (92.08), the second is Nikolai Ugozhaev (91.70).

— I don’t think the rental is great, worker. It’s a shame about the spin, I ruined it. Now I’ll conquer myself in the locker room for about five to ten minutes, then continue with renewed vigor. It’s not as bad as it could be. Kind of a stupid mistake, the waterfall wasn’t ideal, but it was there. And turning is just a stupid mistake. I don’t think anything terrible happened.

— There are a lot of great singles players here, does that add excitement?

— Overall, no, I come to show my best, and not to compete with anyone in particular. There is a very dense and confident list of participants with difficult jumps, artistry and experience. It’s a pleasure to play with such skaters,” reports correspondent Kondratyuk.

The skaters will present their free program on Sunday.
