Russian figure skater Irina Khavronina said this with his partner David Narizhny monitors the performances of foreign dance duos at international competitions.
On Sunday, the dance couple Khavronina/Narizhny won silver in the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Magnitogorsk, scoring 204.46 points in a total of two dances. Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin were first (207.40), third were Sofya Leontyeva and Daniil Gorelkin (193.64).
— We are happy with ourselves, we made two clean skates. Not bad for the first start of the season, we were well rated,” reports the correspondent, according to Khavronina’s words.
— Have you discussed it with the coaches?
Khavronin: They said it wasn’t bad, we’ll work. They congratulated us. We will evaluate the season at the end, but now we feel more confident and calmer than last season.
— How would you describe your skating style?
Khavronin: I would describe our skating as sincere, truthful, not theatrical. How we feel is how we show up. The coaches listen to us, thanks to that we have lively skating.
Narizhny: We do not interfere with each other, this is very important. We don’t have a place or item that we were afraid not to do. We have costume materials that don’t slide very well, it’s sometimes a little difficult. But that’s the only small problem.
— Do you follow international dances?
Khavronin: We always watch, we follow. It’s interesting what the guys are skating. We discuss and evaluate in our own way. It’s our favorite activity.
