Leontyeva and Gorelkin on bronze at the Russian Grand Prix: “There were problems with the skates, but we did our best in that situation”

Skaters Sofia Leontieva And Daniel Gorelkin said that, despite the difficulties with the skates during the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix, they were able to perform with dignity.

On Sunday, Leontyeva and Gorelkin won bronze in the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Magnitogorsk, scoring 193.64 points in a total of two dances. The first were Alexandra Stepanova/Ivan Bukin (207.40), the second were Irina Khavronina/David Narizhny (204.46).

— Are you satisfied with the bronze?

Leontiev: We came out loaded and tried to cheer ourselves up. There were problems with the skates, but I’m happy that we fought to the end in the current situation.

Gorelkin: It’s an experience, it will help us in the future. Overall, we’re glad we did our best in this situation.

— Will you be able to solve the problem with the skates?

Leontiev: I will return to Moscow and continue skating with old skates. We are happy that we were able to show at least something in such a situation.
