Karavaev: We could have won, but we were a little unlucky. Good luck in the next matches

Alexander successfully came on as a substitute and brought Dynamo a draw in the game against Shakhtar

Defender of Kyiv Dynamo Alexander Karavaev commented on the outcome of the meeting with Shakhtar (1:1) in the 11th round of the UPL.

“For some reason it was hard today, I need to talk to the guys. We played below our level, especially in the first half. I don’t know what they were afraid of, maybe it was influenced by the fact that in this situation the glasses were no longer needed by us. And still you can’t play like that, you need to not deviate from your principles. We will analyze the game, it will be good food for thought, so that in the future we do not repeat the mistakes that were made today. In any case, we must play much better.”

“Yes, we just needed to win, we rushed forward from the first minutes. I won’t say that today we had intentions to maintain the result; on the contrary, we wanted to win this match, but something went wrong. Maybe it’s just not our day. Let’s draw the right conclusions, the main thing is that we managed to snatch a draw. We could have won, but we were a little unlucky. I’ll be lucky in future fights.”

“My goal? I actively thought about it, because I know that I can and I know when to do it, and I want to do it as long as I have everything for it. So I really wanted to score, especially since statistics say that I played against Shakhtar 28 times and never scored. Today I managed to do it in my own style. Everything worked out the way it needed to.”

“Of course it becomes easier when the opponent has one less player. We just need to better realize this advantage. Yes, there were a lot of clashes, I don’t approve of Sudakov playing hard in the first minutes. This can harm the health of any football player. But I understand that in such matches the tension of passions is very high. I understand that no one wants to lose, but we need to act within the rules.”

Karavaev appeared on the field in the second half. Three minutes after his appearance, Alexander successfully completed Dubinchak’s cross from the left flank and brought the white-blues a draw.

In the standings, Dynamo is in first place, ahead of Alexandria in additional indicators. On November 3, Alexander Shovkovsky’s team will host Ingulets.
