The leadership of the Red Devils decided to take a serious step

Manchester United announced the dismissal of the head coach Erica ten Hag.

Ten Hag’s assistant, ex-Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy, has been appointed interim coach of the Red Devils.

Ten Hag took charge of Manchester United in the summer of 2022, coming from Ajax. Finished third with the Red Devils in his first season and also won the 2022/23 EFL Cup.

In July, it was announced that the contract with the Dutch specialist would be extended until the summer of 2026.

Manchester United is having a bad season this season. In the last eight matches, the Red Devils achieved only one victory, and in the last round of the Premier League they were defeated by West Ham (1:2).

Potential replacements for Ten Hag include Edin Terzic, Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter. It was also previously reported that Zinedine Zidane and Vincenzo Montella were interested in the candidacy.

In the Premier League standings, Manchester United is in 14th place after nine rounds.
