Artem’s goal did not help the Miners triumph over Dynamo
Midfielder Shakhtar Artem Bondarenko summed up the results of the meeting with Dynamo (1:1) in the 11th round of the UPL.
“I think we deserved to win because we played very good football and created a lot of chances. It is clear that after the red card we had to defend ourselves for the last 30 minutes, but before that we dominated and took the lead. It’s a pity that we didn’t retain the victory, but I think we showed a decent performance.”
“The degree, as always, was there: everyone saw the emotions and passion. Dynamo wanted to win, and so did we. From the first minutes there were yellow cards, tension, so I think the audience was interested in watching the game.”
“It’s difficult to play against a team like Dynamo with a lead. We wanted to hold on to the victory, because in view of the tournament position it was important. It’s a pity we conceded at the end of the game, but that’s football.”
The Miners, playing in the minority for more than half an hour, missed out on victory over the capital club in the last minutes. Karavaev’s goal brought the white-blues a draw: he responded to Bondarenko’s goal.
Shakhtar is in fourth place in the UPL standings. On October 30, Marino Pusic’s team will play against Zorya in the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup, after which they will meet Chernomorets in the Premier League on November 2.
