Brentford without Yarmolyuk advanced to the quarter finals of the English League Cup, beating Sheffield Wednesday in a penalty shootout

The scoring in the match was opened in the 11th minute – Brentford’s German forward Kevin Schade scored. The guests managed to restore the status quo after the break – Jaidy Gassam scored a goal.

The draw lasted until the final whistle, after which the teams went to a penalty shootout. All five of Brentford’s shots hit the target, while Sheffield Wednesday defender Liam Palmer failed to convert his team’s fifth.

Brentford’s Ukrainian midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk spent the entire match on the bench.

Tomorrow, October 30, the clubs of other Ukrainian players will play their matches in the 1/8 finals of the English League Cup – Alexander Zinchenko’s Arsenal will face Preston on the road, and Mikhail Mudryk’s Chelsea will be visiting Newcastle.

Brentford will play their next match in the Premier League on November 4 away against Fulham, and Sheffield Wednesday will host Watford in the Championship on November 2.
