Honda and Renault have exceeded their spending limits.
Honda and Renault, which make power units for Red Bull and Alpine respectively, have been fined by the FIA for breaching cost ceilings, reports Motorsport.
The Japanese motor manufacturer will pay $600 thousand in fines, while the French will pay $400 thousand. This will happen as a result of an agreement concluded with the FIA.
The FIA in its official statement noted that both motorists “worked closely with the Federation to clarify all the details of what happened.”
It was also noted that even though they breached the cost ceiling, Red Bull and Alpin did not receive any technical advantage because of it.
We remind you that next season will be Renault’s last as an engine manufacturer for Alpine, as the French team will abandon the development of its own power plants from 2026.
