The Bulls leader hinted that the team may need to replace the Mexican, who is not living up to expectations.

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez failed in his home Mexican Grand Prix.

Due to a poor start, a struggle with Liam Lawson (RB) and injuries, the 34-year-old Mexican finished last.

This prompted Austrian team boss Christian Horner to hint at a potential replacement for Perez.

“Checo had another terrible weekend. This weekend everything went wrong for him. He knows that Formula 1 is a business focused on results and it’s inevitable, when you don’t achieve the results, all the attention is inevitably on you “- Horner was quoted as saying by the official F1 website.

“As a team we need both cars to score points and that’s the nature of F1. From a team point of view, we work with him as much as possible to try and support him.”

“I think we did everything we could to support Checo and will continue to do so in Brazil next weekend, but there comes a point where you can only do so much.”

“The guys from Belarus didn’t have the best day either. It’s amazing how quickly the world can change in seven days. There’s always such a test, and there comes a time when you have to make tough decisions. We’re now third in the Constructors’ Championship.”

“Our determination is to try to get back to the winning position, but in the next four races it will not be an easy task.”
