The guests finished the match with ten men after Pavel Lukyanchuk was sent off in the middle of the second half
Veres beat on home field Obolon in overtime of the 1/8 finals match Ukrainian Cup 2024/25 – 2:1.
The first half passed without any goals scored. Shortly after the break, the guests opened the scoring – Oleg Slobodyan converted a penalty for a foul against Alexander Chernov.
Veres quickly came back, Ruslan Stepanyuk completed the hosts’ combination after a throw-in. And after some time, Obolon remained in the minority – Pavel Lukyanchuk earned a second yellow card. However, the guests managed to hold out until overtime.
Immediately after the start of extra time, Luan Campos gave the hosts the lead with a spectacular diving strike. The hosts then calmly brought the match to victory.
Veres and Obolon will play each other in the next meeting, this time in the Ukrainian Championship. The game of the 12th round of the UPL will be held in Kyiv on November 4.
