Russian synchronized swimmers Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Varvara Subbotine on they admitted that they were sad to part with the Spiders program, which Kolesnichenko played in the Tokyo Olympics and won the gold of the Games.

Kolesnichenko and Subbotina won the duo contest at the Spartakiad of the Strongest.

Kolesnichenko: You know, I’m very happy. First, the notes are so wonderful, they are the highest notes. I hope we had a very good duet, program [«Пауки”]. Those odds worthy. We are pleased !

Subbotina: I completely agree with Sveta’s words. When they saw the scores, it means they did well.

– How sad is it to part ways with the Spiders program?

Kolesnichenko: We always say that we are sad to part with our programs. We put a piece of our soul and ourselves into it. But nothing, it’s an experience, it will stay in our memory for a long time, so if anything, we will show these programs elsewhere at demo performances.

At the Tokyo 2020 Games, in a duet with Svetlana Romashina, Kolesnichenko won a gold medal with the Spiders program. The 28-year-old athlete is a triple Olympic champion (2016, 2020), 16 times world champion, 11 times European champion.

Subbotina, 21, is a quadruple world champion, triple European champion.
