Johnny Herbert is confident that nothing will change for the three-time world champion.
Recently, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) has often been fighting for position with Lando Norris (McLaren), his main rival in the title race.
According to former driver and now FIA steward Johnny Herbert, the double 10-second penalty the Dutchman received during the Mexican Grand Prix will not affect the three-time world champion.
“The penalties in Mexico will not prevent Max Verstappen from forcing Lando Norris off the track in the future,” Herbert was quoted as saying by Motorsport.
“Verstappen’s goal was to try to allow Ferrari to win the double. I think that’s what Verstappen really intended and tried to achieve. I understand why he did it, but I don’t agree with it, I don’t think I agree – according to many people.

“Fair racing is something Norris has talked about before and that’s the kind of fight he wants to fight.”
I don’t think Verstappen’s driving style will change as the number one goal is to prevent Norris from closing the gap on himself in the drivers’ standings. It is possible that many more interesting careers await us.
Let’s remember that Johnny Herbert was one of those who decided to punish Max Verstappen for swearing in a press conference.
