As in the case of the Rukh – Polesie confrontation, the opponents will have to play two matches within a week
Ukrainian Premier League decided on the date of the rescheduled match of the 1st round Alexandria — Dynamo. It will be played December 4.
Let us remind you that the match, which was supposed to take place in early August, was postponed due to the call-up of a number of players from both teams to the Ukrainian Olympic team.
For Dynamo, this is not the first postponement of the season – back in September, Alexander Shovkovsky’s team played the 4th round match against Vorskla (3:1) at a later date.
It is curious that the two current leaders of the UPL will have to meet twice in a few days. December 7 is the base date of the 16th round, in which the White-Blues will play Alexandria in Kyiv.
We would like to remind you that the postponement of another match of the first round – between Rukh and Polesie – was previously approved, also to December 4th. These opponents will also play twice in a week.
It is Dynamo and Alexandria who share the leadership in the UPL at the moment. The Kiev team is higher thanks to a better goal difference. Polissya is four points behind the leaders, and Shakhtar is six points behind.
This week, both clubs made it to the 1/4 finals of the Ukrainian Cup – Alexandria defeated YUKSA (4:1), and Dynamo only managed to put the squeeze on Vorskla in overtime (2:1).
In the next round of the championship, Ruslan Rotan’s team will play at home with Polesie, and the White-Blues will host Ingulets.
