Girona winger Danjuma is out for 6-8 weeks with injury

Tsygankov’s competitor will probably not be able to help Michel’s team until the end of the year

Sad news for Girona: the winger was injured and out of action for a long time Arnaud Danjuma.

The player was injured in the debut of an away match Spanish Cup against Extremadura (4:0). The 27-year-old player reportedly has a muscle injury. The estimated recovery time is six to eight weeks.

A Dutch footballer with Nigerian roots, who previously played for NEC, Brugge, Bournemouth, Villarreal, Tottenham and Everton, joined Girona in the summer of 2024. Managed to play 12 matches, score two goals and give two assists. It was Arnaud who replaced Viktor Tsygankov in the match against Feyenoord (2:3) in the Champions League, when the Ukrainian suffered a hamstring injury.

The infirmary of the Catalan team is not empty anyway – Danjuma has become its seventh occupant. However, there is also a positive: defender Daley Blind has returned to duty, and Tsygankov recently began training with the general group.

Girona, which made a historic breakthrough last season and made it into the Champions League, started the new campaign poorly: 12 points in 11 rounds, 13th position in the table. Tomorrow, November 2, Michel Sanchez’s team will host Leganes, and three days later they will go to visit PSV in the 4th round of the Champions League.
