The fight had to be rescheduled once and suspended twice due to air raid alerts.
The long-suffering Ukrainian hockey championship. In the opening match, which we managed to play on the second try, Kremenchug destroyed houses Dnieper — 10:3.
Let us remind you that the start of the championship was initially postponed from October 29 to October 31, and was supposed to open yesterday with a fight in Kremenchug. However, the match never took place due to an air raid warning. The meeting was rescheduled for today, started at 10:30, was interrupted twice for security reasons, but was still completed.
Dnepr failed to provide worthy resistance to the hosts, although they opened the scoring in the match. Kremenchuk made a comeback already in the first period, and in the second he scored six more goals (to which the guests responded with one). The third period began again with a goal from Kirill Kucher, after which Nikita Gordyushin’s team brought the score to double digits.
The hero of the meeting was Kremenchug player Vitaly Lyalka, who had three goals and three assists.
The championship will continue today with a fight in Kyiv Sokol – Storm, beginning at 18:00.
Despite the fact that the championship has finally started, there is still a crisis in the leadership of Ukrainian hockey. Let us remind you that in September there was a split in the FHU. An event called the “General Congress of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation” took place in Kremenchug, at which Sergei Mazur was elected as the new president of the organization. However, this congress and its decisions did not receive official status – Gennady Zubko is still listed as the head of the FHU in the Ministry of Justice register.
Yesterday, the FHU, headed by Zubko, issued a communique in which it stated that “the announced competitions do not have any official status.”
Mazur reported that five clubs submitted application forms to participate in the season: Sokol, Kremenchug, Dnepr, Storm and Kyiv Capitals. Trizub’s participation is in doubt.
