Dier is likely to leave Bayern at the end of the season

Under new coach Kompany, the Englishman receives minimal playing time

Defender Bayern’s Eric Dier is unlikely to remain at the club beyond his contract, which expires next summer.

The main reason is that the Englishman does not suit head coach Vincent Kompany, who has been leading Roten since this season. It is reported that Eric does not have high enough speed data, which is critical for the game system under the new coach.

Let us remember that Dier originally moved to Bayern from Tottenham in January 2004 on loan until the end of last season. The Englishman quickly became an important player in Thomas Tuchel’s squad, and in March the Munich team activated the player’s buyout option, signing a contract with him until the summer of 2025.

30-year-old Dier has started only once this season – in the cup match against Mainz (4:0). In other tournaments, he made four appearances as a substitute, playing a total of 43 minutes.

After 8 rounds, Bayern leads the Bundesliga together with Leipzig, occupying first place thanks to a better goal difference. The Kompany team will play their next match tomorrow, November 2, at home against Union Berlin.
