French figure skater Evgenia Lopareva admitted she was motivated by the opportunity to compete at the 2030 Olympic Games in France.
Lopareva and Geoffrey Brissot finished second in rhythm dance at the ISU Grand Prix in Angers.
— It’s a shame that we lost a whole point (for violating the rules for the duration of the program), we apparently have to watch this moment, since they said it that way. The technology is superior to that of the previous Grand Prix. There is progress, we will continue to work.
—Do you have the impression that it’s the pre-Olympic season?
“I don’t know if I’m the right person to ask such a question, because I usually try to take it easy.” We work as always, I don’t dwell on such thoughts. I can’t yet say what I feel: the Olympic Games are approaching. But this, apparently, has not yet started to draw up all the documents. Once we get started, we’ll probably feel it.
— Do the Olympics in France motivate you?
– Yes! We plan to skate; it would be a sin not to go to these Olympic Games. I think it will be something. We race for France and even here, during our home Grand Prix, we feel this love from the public, it’s nice. The Olympic Games will really be something,” reports a correspondent, according to Lopareva.
Lopyreva is 24 years old and was born in Moscow. Before the 2018/19 season, Evgenia teamed up with Brissot, after which the decision was made to represent France. Lopyreva and Brissot are double French champions.
