A representative of the British boxer denied rumors about a possible fight with his compatriot.
Frank Warren, the promoter of IBF world heavyweight champion Briton Daniel Dubois, has denied reports that his protégé could fight compatriot Fabio Wardley.
According to the boxer’s representative, they are working on other options.
“Fabio won’t get the fight. We’re not even discussing it. There’s no doubt that Wardley wants to fight Daniel. But we’re talking to a few other guys at the moment.
Now Fabio has to face someone in the top ten and show the world what he can do. To get a foothold in the top ten and put his name on the list of contenders, he needs to have a good fight next year,” Warren was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
In the past, Oleksandr Usik’s manager picked the perfect opponent after his rematch with Tyson Fury.
