Figure skater Efimova: “We are not thinking about the Olympics yet, we are going there from start to finish”

Figure skater Alisa Efimova who represents the United States in pairs skating with Misha Mitrofanov, said she doesn’t consider this season a pre-Olympic season yet.

Efimova and Mitrofanov scored a total of 171.92 points during the Angers Grand Prix stage and took 4th place.

— Do you have the impression that this is a pre-Olympic season? Or are you not thinking about it yet?

— We go from beginning to beginning. This is our first international season and, in principle, there is no need to make any plans.

— Do you have the required authorization for the Olympic Games?

— I have no citizenship.

— What positive moment do you remember from this Grand Prix?

“There was a little more excitement than usual, but we were still able to connect to work in pairs, despite the fact that I was nervous,” reports the correspondent, as quoted by Efimova.

Mitrofanov said Angers felt tired after his performance at Skate America, the first stop of the ISU Grand Prix.

– It was hard. We arrived tired after Skate America, we trained well and had confidence in ourselves. It’s a shame that they did the free program like this, but couldn’t show anything in the short program,” Mitrofanov said.

The Winter Olympics will take place in Italy in February 2026.
