The Independent Athletics Unit (AIU) has provisionally suspended Japanese race walker Koki Ikeda on suspicion of violating anti-doping rules.
As reported on the AIU website, Ikeda, 26, is accused of using a prohibited substance or method, based on his biological passport data.
The athlete, in comments to Japanese media, declared his innocence, emphasizing that he intended to fight “to clear his name.”
Ikeda is a silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics and vice-world champion in the 20 km walk.
