Boykova/Kozlovsky: “We plan to show the quadruple throws program more than once after the Russian Championship”

Skaters Alexandra Boykova And Dmitri Kozlovsky said that they did not perform a quadruple throw during the second stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Kazan, because for now they wanted to execute the programs cleanly.

On Sunday, Boykova/Kozlovsky won the pairs competition at the second stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Kazan, scoring 232.71 points in the two-program total. Elizaveta Osokina and Artem Gritsaenko finished second (206.10). Natalya Khabibullina and Ilya Knyazhuk withdrew from the competition due to an injury to their partner.

— We rewrote our program count records this season. Are you happy?

Kozlovsky: Well, you can’t compare it with the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial. It turned out funny, we had two places up for grabs. First and last (laughs).

It was a good start, but today I had shoulder problems. I was glad that Sasha, despite her own stupidity at the beginning, didn’t think outside the box at all. During the first bracket, we were on the verge of failure, but we held on and saw it through to the end.

The goal was to skate cleanly, and it almost worked. Now we will prepare for St. Petersburg.

Boykova: Today I gave myself a bit of a break. It was comfortable, I relaxed and it reached the ceiling.

— Have you planned a quadruple ejection today?

Kozlovsky: There will be no quadruple ejection at the start of the season, when you have to skate cleanly. The integrity of the composition suffered greatly; they approached it with great care. When the sequence of elements changed, the overall design changed.

Boykova: We plan to show a program with a quadruple ejection more than once after the Russian Championship,” reports the correspondent of according to the words of Boykova/Kozlovsky.

Boykova and Kozlovsky are European champions in 2020 and bronze world champions in 2021.
