Coco gave only five games to her opponent and spent 76 minutes winning
Coco Gauff started with a victory Final WTA tournament in Saudi Arabian Riyadh, having beaten the American Jessica Pegula – 6:3, 6:2.
The fight lasted one hour and 16 minutes. Last year’s finalist of the Final Tournament was unable to compete on equal terms with the third racket of the world ranking. Coco converted five breaks to two, allowing her opponent to win only five games in two sets.
Gauff managed to break the winless streak (which lasted three matches) in the confrontation with Pegula, in particular, she took revenge from her for the defeat in Berlin.
Let us remind you that in the opening match of the tournament, Iga Šwiętek won a strong-willed victory over Barbora Krejcikova. In the second round of the Orange Group, Gauff will compete with the representative of Poland, and Pegula will face the Czech tennis player. Both fights will take place on Tuesday, November 5th.
