The promoter does not believe in the sincerity of the boxer’s words about leaving the ring
Promoter Eddie Hearn does not believe that the WBC world champion Tyson Fury really ended his career and will no longer enter the ring. Promoter believes ‘Gypsy King’ is intentionally creating hype to make more money in a potential future fight with his protagonist Anthony Joshua.
“Someone told me that Fury announced his retirement again. Apparently he’s so insecure that he says it every time before a Joshua fight.”
“At some point, you have to say to yourself, ‘I’m going to talk nonsense to get some publicity and try to draw attention away from Anthony.’ You’re the self-proclaimed number one heavyweight in the world, and you’re worried about Joshua beforehand.”
“He wants money and is not interested in it, but he also wants half a billion. I have never seen so many contradictions. Let’s see what happens next week. Joshua will knock out Usyk and then come for Fury.”
Earlier, Hearn stated that he was confident in the fight between Joshua and Fury, regardless of the outcome of the fight between Anthony and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. According to him, a face-to-face meeting of the two Britons can be arranged as early as December.
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia.
In Ukraine, the broadcast of the Usyk-Joshua rematch will be hosted by the MEGOGO media service. Oleksandr personally purchased the rights to broadcast his fight with AJ in order to transfer them to Ukrainian broadcasters for free.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
