In the match of the 12th round of the UPL, Rukh achieved an away draw against Krivbass (1:1)
Head coach Rukha Vitaly Ponomarev commented on the away draw against Krivbassa in the 12th round match UPL (1:1).
“This was a fighting game that we prepared for. The weather made some adjustments, because the players had to adapt to such a strong wind. Krivbass is a more experienced team in this regard and took advantage of this. While our defense made a childish mistake, it is also an element of psychology.”
“We knew that Krivbass professes a similar playing style, like Rukh – quick transitions from defense to attack, pressing. The team was ready for a lot of fighting and we noted that we needed to win the combats. Unfortunately, our players lost many of these combats in the first half. After conceding a goal we started playing good football. Rukh created quality chances, but was unable to convert them. In general, both teams wanted to win this match and no one played to hold the score, so I think the audience liked this game.”
“The match was controversial, because on the one hand, a draw with the bronze medalist of the championship is a good result. But on the other hand, we could have won if not for our own mistake. But I note that we played against an unyielding team. We are not completely satisfied with our performance, but today Rukh played at a good level.”
Rukh has not won in the UPL since August 30, when Ingulets was defeated at home (5:0). Since then, Vitaly Ponomarev’s team has played seven matches in the championship – drawn six times and lost once.
In the standings, the Lviv team is in 8th position with 15 points scored.
Rukh will play his next match on November 10 away against Veres.
