The Briton is looking forward to the end of the season.
The previous Brazilian Grand Prix was another disaster for Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.
For the second time in a row, the 39-year-old Briton failed to overcome the first part of qualifying, and he finished tenth in the race. At the same time, his teammate George Russell stopped one step away from the podium.
In an interview after the race, Sir Lewis admitted he was trying to ignore the disappointment of the results.
“I’m just focused on something else. I’m not fighting for the championship. It doesn’t really matter where we finish in the championship,” Motorsport quoted Hamilton as saying.
“I don’t care if I’m ahead of George or behind George. It makes no difference to me. I just want to keep my car from hitting the wall and I’ll try to score points for the team if I can and if I can finish.” .
“If in the next races I have a car that doesn’t bounce on the track, hopefully we can achieve a better result. But yes, I’m looking forward to Christmas.”

Hamilton was asked to find out if the car’s bouncing problems, which caused him back pain all week in Brazil, were caused by the Mercedes’ low suspension height or the uneven track surface.
“Both, but I think mostly because of the car, there was just something wrong. Qualifying was bad. The sprint race was bad. The car was just bad all weekend.”
“Obviously it’s devastating to have such a poor race in the second half of the season – but all I can say is we’re trying.”
“It’s definitely not good enough and we have to take responsibility. I have to take responsibility, but I’m doing the best I have. The car was the worst this weekend and I don’t know what’s wrong. It’s necessary let’s find out what’s wrong.”
Asked why his car was so good and bad over the weekend, Hamilton joked: “Tell me. That’s the million-dollar question. If you can find the reason, I’ll give you a million dollars!”
Lewis Hamilton is currently seventh in the drivers’ standings, two points behind George Russell.
