The Dutchman is gearing up to win his fourth consecutive world title.
After a brilliant victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is closing in on his fourth championship title.
The 27-year-old Dutchman could become a four-time world champion based on the results of the next Grand Prix, which will be held in Las Vegas, the official website of Formula 1 reports.
In the 2024 season, there are three Grand Prix + sprints left to be held in Qatar. Ideally, a driver could earn 86 points over the remaining three stages (including one point each for the fastest lap).
Verstappen’s lead over Lando Norris (McLaren), the only competitor in the fight for the title, is 62 points.
To keep the intrigue alive, Norris needs to score three points more than Verstappen in the USA. Then the end of the season will move to Qatar.
However, if the Dutchman wins in Las Vegas, the Briton will lose even his mathematical chance of becoming the champion.
In addition, if Norris wins back by less than three points, he will also “hand” Verstappen the championship crown, regardless of the results in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
