More than 200 people have died due to the storm in Spain
Madrid Mentor Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti expressed disappointment with the decision to hold football matches during a natural disaster in Spain.
“Football is a party. You can go out and have fun if you and your family feel good. But if people suffer, then this cannot be done. You shouldn’t play football when this happens.”
“For me football has to stop, it’s not that important these days. The entire football world understands that it is not worth playing football now. But we can’t do anything, we do what we are ordered.”
Heavy rains, flooding and, as a result, storm DANA are raging in the east and south of Spain. The disaster has already claimed more than 200 lives. Due to the storm, several sporting events were canceled, including the Blancos’ match with Valencia in La Liga.
Today Real Madrid will play a Champions League match with Milan. Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin is expected to join the Madrid club.
