Kyiv Capitals beat Sokol in the Ukrainian Hockey Championship

The capital’s derby ended not in favor of the champion

Kyiv Capitals beat in a fundamental rivalry Falcon in a regular match Ukrainian hockey championship – 2:1.

The nominal guests won the first period thanks to the only goal from Sebastian Karpenko. During the second twenty minutes the score remained unchanged.

The second time the Citizens were able to upset Bogdan Dyachenko in the first seconds of the third period. Sokol managed to respond to this with only one goal – by Alexey Yanishevsky.

The current champion lost both matches at the start of the long-suffering championship. Let us remind you that earlier the Kiev team lost to the Odessa Storm in a shootout. Kyiv Capitals topped the standings with two victories.

Despite the fact that the hockey championship has finally started, there is still a crisis in the management of Ukrainian hockey. Let us remind you that in September there was a split in the FHU. An event called the “General Congress of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation” was held in Kremenchug, at which Sergei Mazur was elected as the new president of the organization. However, this congress and its decisions did not receive official status – Gennady Zubko is still listed as the head of the FHU in the Ministry of Justice register.

On November 8, Sokol will fight with Dnepr, and the next day the Kyiv Capitals will host Storm in the battle of leaders.
