Rovnetsy demand evidence of insults from fans in the match with Zarya
Veres appeals the decision Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association on the imposition of a fine of 200 thousand hryvnia for racist shouts from spectators in the stands of the Avangard stadium in a match against Zari (2:1) in the 9th round of the UPL.
“Veres considers all the accusations indicated in the report unproven and unsubstantiated. The video recording of the match does not in any way confirm any cries of this nature from fans. Neither in the video recording of the match nor after the game does it appear that any of Zarya’s players heard any racist shouts directed at them, complained to the UAF or contacted the club with a similar complaint.”
“The match delegate did not record any offensive shouts from the stands on video, which means these statements are unfounded assumptions. Veres considers such an accusation very serious and it cannot be based on an unsubstantiated statement by a delegate. Therefore, we demand to provide irrefutable evidence of such a serious offense. If there is no such evidence, we cannot accept such accusations.”
Veres conceded first in the match with Zorya in the ninth round. Then the Rivne team scored two goals, Marko Mrvaljevic and Luan scored. The victory for Oleg Shandruk’s team was the first of the season at home.
Veres is in 11th place in the UPL with 12 points. In the next match, the Rivne team will host Rukh on November 10.
