Oleg Shandruk’s team scored twice by the middle of the first half
The opening match of the Sunday program of the 13th round took place in Rivne UPL — Veres defeated Rukh (2:0).
The scoring was opened already in the 6th minute of the match – Rukh captain Denis Pidgursky lost the ball near his own penalty area, and Veres winger Vitaly Dakhnovsky shot into the bottom corner of Dmitry Ledviy’s goal.
Veres doubled their lead midway through the first half. The same Dakhnovsky carried the ball on the left flank and transferred it into the penalty area to Luan, who fired from 16 meters and left no chance for Ledviu.
This victory was Veres’s third in the current UPL, and thanks to it, Oleg Shandruk’s team immediately rose to 8th place in the standings. Rukh is positioned lower – both clubs have 15 points (the Lviv team, at the same time, have the postponed match of the opening round against Polesie in reserve).
After a break for national team matches, Veres will host Alexandria at home, and Rukh will play against Left Bank at home. Both fights will take place on November 24.
