The opening stage of the World Cup will begin on November 30 in Kontiolahti, Finland
Trainer Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Nikolay Zots reported that Irina Petrenko will miss the first stage World Cup 2024/25 and will continue his recovery after breaking his leg.
“Irina’s recovery has been going on, and it’s not even going as quickly as we would like, but has taken a little longer. But [Ирина] resumed training, she is now with us at the training camp in Italy, although she is not yet working at full capacity. We take it in a more technical sense, and it is not 100% receiving the loads that it should have had this season. We definitely won’t be in Kontiolahti, but we hope that in Gogfilzen [на втором этапе] Irina Petrenko will already appear.”
“Unfortunately, this happened. Irina Petrenko conducted high-quality training compared to the previous season. Irina Petrenko is our fighting unit of the team and even the relay four.”
At the end of the 2023/24 season, the Ukrainian women’s team moved up one place and took ninth place in the Nations Cup. The blue-and-yellows will be able to field five athletes, just like last season.
The 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup starts on November 30, 2024 in the Finnish city of Kontiolahti and ends on March 23, 2025 in Holmenkollen, Norway.
