Synchronized swimmer Kolesnichenko on the creation of the FVVSR: “We will move together in the same direction. Common goal, common tasks”

Triple Olympic synchronized swimming champion Svetlana Kolesnichenko told that she has a positive attitude towards the unification of Russian aquatic federations.

On October 31, the All-Russian Swimming Federation, the Russian Synchronized Swimming Federation, the Russian Water Polo Federation and the Russian Diving Federation merged into a single organization – the Russian Swimming Federation. Earlier, Vice President of the Russian Swimming Federation (FWWSR) Olga Brusnikina told that Russian athletes will perform in the summer of 2025 at the Open Championships in Hungary.

— What do you think of the unification of water federations?

– Why not? Normal, positive. I think we will all move forward together in the same direction. Common goal, common tasks. I think management will decide what tasks are assigned. I’m an athlete who should have nothing to do with this. I have to do my job, fulfill the tasks of coach. That’s what I do, but I probably shouldn’t really think about what happened there.

— We were invited to the Hungarian championship. Can we talk about some kind of warming?

“I hope this is a good trend, that everything will return to normal.” I think the Hungarian Championship will show how competitions should be held and Russian athletes will be able to compete under their own flag and anthem. As far as I know, the invitation to speak was in this status. And I think that sooner or later everything will come back and everything will be fine. And we must be prepared for any situation,” Kolesnichenko told .

Kolesnichenko is a 16-time world champion and 11-time European champion. This year, the 31-year-old athlete participated in the BRICS Games, where she won three gold medals.
