David will not work until at least the investigation is completed.
England Judicial Regulatory Body PGMOL suspended the referee English Premier League David Coote.
An investigation has been initiated against the 42-year-old specialist, and Kut’s suspension will remain in effect at least until its completion.
The investigation was prompted by a video released today on social media showing Coote making “derogatory comments” about Liverpool Football Club and its former head coach Jurgen Klopp. In particular, David called the German an “asshole” and described the game of the aforementioned club as “shit”.
Presumably, the video was made after the Liverpool-Burnley match (1:1) in the 35th round of the 2019/20 Premier League, which Klopp’s team played as champions and the result of which interrupted the Reds’ 24-match home winning streak.
Coote has been refereeing Premier League matches since April 2018. This season he managed to work in six championship matches; in particular, he was the chief referee of the 11th round match between Liverpool and Aston Villa (2:0), the victory of which allowed the Reds to gain a foothold in the leaders of the Premier League, increasing the lead over Manchester City to five points. In total, under this referee, Liverpool played 8 matches, of which they won five and lost two.
Coote is a Nottinghamshire native and is registered with PGMOL as a Notts County fan.
