In his last fight, the Ukrainian lost to Jaron Ennis
Famous promoter Eddie Hearn announced a potential welterweight fight between the Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan (24-3, 13 KO) and American Blair Cobbs (17-1-1, 10 KOs).
Cobbs initially expressed a desire to fight the current IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs). However, Hearn suggested an option with the Ukrainian, after which there would be a chance to fight with Jaron.
“I have a good fight for you – Karen Chukhadzhyan. I’ll organize a fight with Karen for you. If you defeat him, I will organize a fight with a boxer with a name,” Hearn emphasized in his response to Cobbs.
Chukhajyan lost to Ennis in his last fight. The fight eventually lasted the entire intended distance of 12 rounds, and to determine the winner it was necessary to resort to the judges’ notes. All three referees unanimously gave the victory to Ennis: 119:107, 117:109, 116:110.
Let us remember that Chukhadzhyan had previously met with Ennis. The previous fight also took place in the USA in January 2023. The American confidently won on points, all judges gave each round to Jaron (three times 120:108).
Chukhadzhyan’s liabilities now include three defeats in his professional career. Ennis, 27, remains undefeated in his third successful IBF title defense.
