Figure skater Drozd talks about fourth place at the Krasnoyarsk Grand Prix stage: “This is far from the limit of our abilities”

Figure skater Pavel Drozd, who participates in ice dancing competitions with Elizaveta Shichina, told that the couple performed well at the Russian Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk, but this is far from the result maximum they can count on.

The Krasnoyarsk stage took place from November 9 to 10. In the dance duet competition, Shichina and Drozd finished fourth with a score of 190.80 points; Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva and Yegor Bazin won (209.40).

— It was our first serious start this season, so it was important for us to perform well in Krasnoyarsk. We believe we have accomplished this task successfully, but there is still much work to be done. I can’t help but note Lisa’s hard work and desire, as we have only been together for 6 months. We are far from the limit of our capabilities. We would particularly like to thank our team of coaches for their daily and tireless work alongside us!

We now have a little less than two weeks left before the stage in beautiful and native St. Petersburg, so we are continuing our preparations and will try to make the most of this time.

Of course, we felt the time zone change, but we were happy to play in Krasnoyarsk.

I’ve competed in tournaments in China and Japan, where the time difference is even greater. But as always, a profession is a profession, you have to try to adapt as much as possible to the given circumstances – and move forward,” Drozd told .

The duo Shichina/Drozd was formed in the spring of this year.

Drozd, together with Elizaveta Shanaeva, became silver medalist of the Russian Championship and the final of the 2023 Russian Grand Prix. Last season, the couple took 4th place at the Russian Championship and became fifth at the Spartakiad of the strongest. In March, the dance duo broke up.
