Casper’s victory left Alcaraz out of the playoffs
Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud beat the “neutral” Andrey Rublev in the final match of the group stage Final ATP 2024 tournament. The fight lasted an hour and 45 minutes.
The fate of the first set was decided by one successful break from Ruud in the seventh game – 6:4. The second game went to Rublev – 7:5. In the decisive third set, Kasper left no chance for the “neutral” opponent – 6:2.
Ruud finished second in John Newcombe’s group and reached the semi-finals of the ATP Finals, where he will play Jannik Sinner. Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz will meet in the second semi-final.
Rublev took last place in the group. Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz was in third position and also finished his performance at the tournament in Turin.
