Singer Zaitseva: “Ignatova’s statements that the composition of her performance was performed once are false”

Singer Maria Zaitseva told that during the rehearsal of the show Eugene Medvedeva performed the song “Diamonds” twice, on which she performed Alexandra Ignatova (formerly Trusova), and also stated that the presence of artists at the rehearsal was not obligatory.

On Friday, Evgenia Medvedeva’s show took place at the CSKA Arena in Moscow. Ignatova performed live vocals for Zaitseva, who sang the song “Diamonds”. Ignatova said that during the rehearsal, Zaitseva refused to perform the song several times, which is why the skater could not properly prepare for the show.

Yesterday at Evgenia Medvedeva’s show I performed 4 compositions: “Tango on Monday”, “Too Beautiful” and two covers – “Strong Enough” and “Diamonds”. And more specifically the song “Diamonds” which I performed twice, as evidenced by the video of eyewitnesses present at the rehearsal.

Therefore, Alexandra’s statements that the composition of her performance was sung once are false. The information that she personally asked me to sing again or requested a soundtrack is also false, which can be confirmed by the organizers who were present at the rehearsal and had a dialogue with my team. “Plus” was requested by the organizers the day before the show so that I could use it in case I couldn’t attend the rehearsal.

It is also important to note that I don’t know Alexandra, so I don’t quite understand what kind of conflict and “inhumane” attitude we are talking about when I have never spoken with this person in my life. I looked at all the athletes from up on the stage, and they were down on the ice, we didn’t contact anyone.

When I came out to sing “Diamonds” at the show itself, in the first half of the song, Alexandra didn’t go on the ice and I didn’t understand what was happening. I was afraid something had happened.

I really don’t have any “plus” for these cover compositions, since I’ve never performed them with a “plus” soundtrack.

However, this did not stop another athlete, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, from skating to the song “Strong Enough”, despite the fact that it was performed only once during rehearsal, unlike the song by Trusova’s performance.

I will also add that my presence at the soundcheck was not a prerequisite for participating in the show. It was my personal initiative to come. Not all of the artists participating in the show were at rehearsals.

In general, this situation demonstrates that there is smoke without fire. And quite thick. What is sad about this situation is not only the false accusations, but also, to a greater extent, the fact that it takes so little to attack a person with accusations.

The last time the athlete competed in tournaments was in 2022, she missed the 2023/24 season completely.
