National team forward Portugal Cristiano Ronaldo became the author of a unique record.
Cristiano set the best winning record among football players in national teams. The record was achieved in the match of the 5th round of Division A1 with Poland (5:1).
Ronaldo triumphed in his 132nd match with the Portuguese national team (over 215 games). Thus, Cristiano surpassed the figure of Sergio Ramos, who won 131 matches (out of 180) as part of the Spanish national team.
Let us remind you that Ronaldo recently won another prestigious award. The current Al Nasr player was recognized for his contribution to the history of Portuguese football – Quinas de Platina.
With the national team, Ronaldo won the 2016 European Championship, became vice-champion of Euro 2004 and won bronze medals at the continental championship in 2012. Portugal also won the Nations League in 2019 with Ronaldo.
Portugal took first place in Group 1 ahead of schedule and reached the quarter-finals of the Nations League. In the final round, Roberto Martinez’s team will play away against Croatia.
