Poland beat the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals of the Billie Jean King Cup

In the semi-finals the Polish team will meet with the Italian national team

Poland national team won a strong-willed victory over Czech Republic in the quarterfinals Billie Jean King Cup 2024 – 2:1.

Maria Bouzkova brought the Czechs the first point by defeating Magdalena French. Maria won the first game easily, lost in the second set, and successfully finished the third set, taking the winning point on the return.

Former first racket Iga Swiatek began to save the situation for Poland. In her singles match, she first snatched a victory over Linda Noskova. Iga won the first game in a tiebreaker, but did not hold on to the second set. In the third game, the Pole won on a return in the 12th game.

In the doubles match, Szwiatek and Katarzyna Kavoy beat the duo of Bouzkova and Katarzyna Siniakova. The Polish team confidently took the first set. In the second game, Bouzkova and Sinyakova fought back from a score of 0:4, but then again missed serve, losing the match.

Poland became the second semi-finalist of the Billie Jean King Cup final tournament. In the next match, the Polish team will meet with the Italian team, which previously defeated Japan. The other quarterfinal pairs are Australia – Slovakia and Canada – Great Britain.
