Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatskaya beat the Austrian Julia Graber in the fourth head-to-head match of the confrontation Ukraine – Austria in the playoffs Billie Jean King Cup.
Initially, Zavatskaya was supposed to meet with Tamir Pashek, but shortly before the start of the game, the Austrian national team replaced her with Julia Graber.
The match lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes. In the opening game, Zavatskaya made two breaks and confidently won with a final score of 6:2. The second set was more equal – the tiebreak was very close, but in the decisive 12th game Katarina took her opponent’s serve and won such an important victory for the Ukrainian team.
The teams have a decisive fifth match ahead, where Ukraine will be represented in doubles by Nadezhda Kichenok and Katarina Zavatskaya, who replaced Anastasia Soboleva at the last moment, and Austria by Tamira Pashek and Sinja Kraus.
The winner of the Ukraine-Austria meeting will receive the right to compete in the qualification of the world finals in 2025.
