Figure skater Semenenko talks about his victory on the stage of the Russian Grand Prix: “I am happy that I managed to show two programs with dignity”

Russian Champion Yevgeny Semenenko said he was satisfied with his performance during the fourth stage of the Russian Grand Prix.

On Sunday, Semenenko won the men’s competition at the fourth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow, scoring 301.60 points in the two-program total. Grigory Fedorov won silver (301.04), Mark Kondratyuk won bronze (289.11).

“I am happy that after two third places in previous tournaments, we managed to show two programs with dignity. My mood doesn’t change, it depends on my physical condition. She wasn’t bad here. I think I managed to show both the short skate and the free skate well.

This time the free skate went differently, as I roughly counted the points as the program progressed. Knowing the results of previous participants, I understood that there was no room for error. I knew the fight would be difficult, the opponents were strong. I’m glad it all worked out this way.

— Before awarding points, did you know what you would get?

“I knew what was going to happen.” In which direction – you already need to look at the print. First of all, I was happy that I was able to rehabilitate myself. Grisha Fedorov knew the points – that helped. I knew I couldn’t make a single mistake on the track.

— Which is better: when you are friends with your rivals or in a tougher confrontation?

– I am for a healthy fight. I think it’s interesting. We must treat each competitor with understanding; we all do the same thing. It’s interesting to watch.

— How many points will the Russian champion score? More than 300?

— I find it difficult to answer. We will watch the championship itself,” reports the correspondent of , according to Semenenko’s words.
