Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtiarev said the ministry would provide moral support to the figure skater Kamila Valieva regarding his return to professional sport.

At the end of January, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules. The Russian’s suspension period begins on December 25, 2021 and her results have been canceled since that date. The athlete was also deprived of gold medals at the 2022 Beijing Olympics in the team tournament and at the 2022 European Championships.
