The Ukrainian U-17 national team will find out its opponents in the elite round of qualification for Euro 2025 on December 8
Head coach Ukrainian national team U-17 Yuriy Moroz commented on the recent training camp in Croatia.
“It’s very good that we managed to play against such a strong opponent as Croatia. I can only thank the leadership of the UAF for organizing such a useful gathering.”
“I was pleased with the work of the team, in particular with the newcomers. Except that I didn’t like the team’s actions in the first half of the first match, when we conceded two goals. But I can say with confidence that the competition for the team is growing. We also have talented football players born in 2009.”
“As for further work, we will no longer gather this year. The team completed the task of entering the elite round. We will start making plans after December 8, when the draw for the next stage of qualification will take place.”
The Ukrainian U-17 national team held two sparring matches with the Croatian team in Rijeka. In the first meeting, the blue-yellows were defeated (1:2). In the second control match the teams played a goalless draw.
Let us remind you that Yuri Moroz’s team made it to the second round of qualifying for the upcoming continental championship. In the first qualification, the blue-yellows defeated Kosovo (4:2) and Kazakhstan (3:0), but lost to Belgium (1:2). However, Ukraine secured the final second place in the group, and with it access to the next round of selection.
The draw for the second round of qualifying for Euro 2025 will take place on December 8. 28 teams will compete for seven tickets to the final tournament, which will be held in Albania.
