Pole vault coach Vitaly Petrov became a laureate of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) award for outstanding achievements, the IOC press service reports.
Petrov is 86 years old, he is an honored coach of the USSR. Petrov was the personal coach of Olympic champions Elena Isinbaeva and Sergei Bubka.
In total, under his leadership, athletes won six medals at the Olympic Games, won 21 world championships and set 36 world records.
The IOC published a video on social networks with moments of performances of Petrov’s students, but Isinbayeva is absent from the video.
