“Men’s individual skating is already the most interesting stage of the Russian Grand Prix” – Enbert

Olympic silver medalist figure skater Alexandre Enbert believes that at the stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow, the most interesting fight took place in the men’s single skating competition.

The Russian Grand Prix stage in the capital ended on Sunday. In men’s single skating, Evgeniy Semenenko won, in women’s single skating – Adelia Petrosyan.

— Men’s individual skating is already the most interesting Grand Prix! The guys demonstrate an incredible level: an abundance of quadruple jumps, triple axes. Super complex content. Sure, there are spots, under-rotations, and drops, but it’s still very interesting. Semenenko looks very cool. Yes, in principle the whole trio looks great, but the guys there are still very strong.

Why are girls falling behind? It’s hard to say. Someone else is learning quads. Alina Gorbacheva, for example, performs quadruples in training. It hasn’t worked yet in the last Grand Prix; there were some errors. This is a normal period: sometimes there are more quadruples, sometimes fewer. Once the athletes are alone, they are then replaced by others. I think the girls will develop elements, gain stability, and it will also be a very strong event.

Adelia Petrosyan looks great, Akatieva just returned after missing the season. Dasha Sadkova landed two quadruple jumps in her free skate. I just don’t have enough stability and crisp performance with the quads yet, but that’s okay. By the Russian Championship or next season, the competition will increase,” Enbert told Metaratings.ru.

The next stage of the Russian Grand Prix will take place on November 23-24 in Saint Petersburg.
