The Olympic champion will begin training in December
Olympic champion in high jump Yaroslav Maguchikh spoke about plans for 2025. The Ukrainian plans to fully spend the winter season and compete at Euro 2025 indoors.
“My preparation begins in December. The season will be busy. Firstly, the winter season. In 2025 there will be European and World Indoor Championships. And at the end of September there will be the World Cup in Tokyo. We rested a little and got back to work,” said the athlete.
Note that the 2025 European Indoor Championships will be held in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, on March 6-9. The World Indoor Championships will take place March 21-23 in Nanjing, China.
Let us remind you that Maguchikh was recognized as the best athlete in Europe in 2024. The Ukrainian was also awarded the title of best athlete in the Balkans 2024. Yaroslava reached the final voting for the best athlete of the year in non-running disciplines according to World Athletics.
At the 2024 Olympic Games, Maguchikh won gold in the high jump, clearing the bar at a height of 2.00 m. Also on July 7, Maguchikh broke the world high jump record, which had stood since 1987 – Yaroslava cleared the height of 2.10 m at the Diamond stage league in Paris.
