First Vice-President of the Russian Water Sports Federation (FVVSR) Vladimir Salnikov, who previously headed the All-Russian Swimming Federation (ARSF), will develop the international direction of the unified federation, the FVVSR press service reports.

The swimming will be supervised by Olympic medalist and vice-president of the FVVSR Evgeniy Korotyshkin.

FVVSR President Dmitry Mazepin said that the distribution of responsibilities in the structure of the organization is linked to the desire to see Russian athletes participate in international competitions and raise the level of swimming in the country.

— The new appointments are mainly due to the fact that one of the main goals of the United Federation is to return Russian athletes to international competitions. And no one can achieve this better than Vladimir Salnikov, who for so long was at the head of the development of swimming in our country. Such rearrangements will allow him to concentrate all his attention and experience to achieve the most effective results.

I am also convinced that Evgeny Korotyshkin, thanks to his achievements in his amateur and professional career, will multiply and exaggerate all the successes achieved in swimming and allow this sport to reach a new level, ”said Mazepin.

The new united federation includes the All-Russian Swimming Federation, the Russian Diving Federation, the Russian Water Polo Federation and the Russian Synchronized Swimming Federation.
