Sych: The whole team gave their all to win

The 23-year-old footballer became the 302nd player for the blue-and-yellows in history

National team debutant Ukraine Alexey Sych summed up the results of his first match as part of the national team. According to him, the victory over Albania (2:1) in the League of Nations took all his strength.

“Going out on the field? This happened quite unexpectedly for me. The emotions are simply incredible. I think that for every player it is a dream to make his debut for the main team. This dream came true for me – thanks to the coach and team for trusting me.”

“It was hard. With the score 2:1, it was necessary to preserve the victory. The guys, the whole team, gave their all to win.”

Sych took the field in the match with Albania (2:1) in the Nations League. In the 76th minute, Alexey replaced Efim Konoplya. The 23-year-old footballer became the 302nd player in the blue-yellows’ history.

The blue-and-yellows took second place in Group B1 of the Nations League and will play in the playoffs for the right to promotion to Division A. The Ukrainians’ opponents could be the national teams of Scotland, Hungary, Serbia or Belgium. The draw will take place on Friday, November 22. The playoff matches themselves will take place next year – on March 20 and 23.
