Anthony Joshua was defeated by Daniel Dubois in September, knocked out in the fifth round
Former world light welterweight champion Amir Khan believes that the ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) needs to fight his next fight against the former WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).
“He needs to wait for the fight against Fury. They are big names and could make an incredible fight. Joshua performed phenomenally in boxing, earned a lot of money, fought with many opponents around the world. He can have a fight with Fury, earn a significant fee and then enjoy life and take a break from boxing. The fans respect him and will remember him as a strong champion.”
Joshua lost to Daniel Dubois by knockout in his last fight. Anthony wants a rematch, but may not have time to prepare for February 2025. At this time, Dubois has a window for an interim fight in order to then make his mandatory IBF title defense before April 22.
Earlier, Tyson Fury confirmed his desire to fight Joshua. Promoter Eddie Hearn also announced the likelihood of this fight.
Tyson Fury is now preparing for a rematch with Alexander Usik. This fight will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
