Diving coach Moiseeva: “Klyueva and Ivanov are at the level where international experience is needed”

The head coach of the Russian national team, Svetlana Moiseeva, told that the three Russian divers who received neutral status need experience to participate in international tournaments.

Ulyana Klyueva, Grigory Ivanov and Nadezhda Trifonova received neutral status to participate in competitions under the auspices of the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics).

— The guys want to perform on the international stage. Ulyana and Grisha are just at the age where they show good results, and they especially have junior international experience, and although Ulyana still managed to become European champion, Grisha did not participate in such important competitions.

— Trifonova doesn’t have any international experience, does she?

— She and Ulyana won the Russian championship, the BRICS Games, she won the championship, but at the junior international level she missed all the competitions. She needs that experience right now to take it to the next level, to complicate the program.

— Now the question is: who will accompany them to these competitions? Diving coaches do not have neutral status.

– These are our first signs. Now, of course, coaches also need to get status, because in our sport it is impossible to compete without a coach.

— Ulyana said that potentially the first starts in neutral status could be a performance in Rostock.

– Yes, according to the calendar, according to what we have, there is nothing before that. We still don’t really understand what’s going on with the World Cup schedule. If the first stage takes place in China, then it is also possible for the guys, their neutral status allows them to perform there. Then maybe they will qualify for the World Championships,” Moiseeva told .
